Having said all that, if you are a 'serious' beginner, then I strongly suggest you get this learn guitar dvd system. It's the best beginner method I have found anywhere. It covers the basics thoroughly and gives you a very solid foundation to build further. You WILL learn a lot faster and have more success in the long run by getting the basics down properly.

You'll grow and have a lot more fun in the long run. And you'll avoid all the typical beginner mistakes and bad habits that make playing and learning a lot harder than it needs to be.

It is simple, but not awlays easy. So the best advice I can give is to choose a good course and follow it trhough to the end. You'll be amazed with your progress if you do.
