How do you read music in tabs?
There are heaps of websites that show how to play cool pop songs in tabs but I don't understand how it works.
They have the lyrics written and then chords on top of the lyrics.. is that sufficient information to play a song?
Most tabs are wrong. And tab is not a way to learn songs in my opinion.
You need to develop the proper skills to play guitar properly. Otherwise you'll learn bad habits that make playing guitar much harder than it should be.
And using tab for songs that need skills you don't have only teaches you to fail.
Tab is NOT a magic shortcut to learning guitar. It does more harm than good… especially for beginners. You have to do the work and master the basics if you're serious about becoming the best you can and want to know what you are doing.
