I'm in a REALLY busy time of life and don't get to play my guitar as often as I'd like. That being said, I've found the lessons you send out are terrific…easy to understand, comprehensive…and far too frequently for me to have even a hope of keeping up ( but I think I'm close to mastering the first lesson I downloaded about 2 months ago). I'm real sorry to hear about the dirty tricks ( I'm being charitable !)you've had to endure in return for trying to offer a good service, and freely. Please DO keep me on the mailing list…I look forward to the day ( and it won't be long, now) when I can take full advantage of your lessons. In the meantime, keep up the great work.

Hey, just saying that you are doing a greaaat job and I'm so thankful I stumbled upon your site. I've been playing guitar with extremely little direction for about 4 years now. During that time I garnered quite a bit of skill but was always bothered by how I never understood how the original artist got those chords/licks in the first place. Seeing all that theory that originally scared me away, broken into easily digestible parts has been amazingly helpful. There's also this amazingly simple but effective chord book that I've been using along with your PDFs. I lent it out and don't currently remember the name, but the philosophy behind the book is very much the same as yours and I find it to be a great companion to your course. I'll post the name once I get it back.

Anyways down to your concerns, when I first signed up for the mailing list I was already skeptical. I dont' remember where exactly I signed up but I do remember I was very suspicious about being spammed. Maybe I found the design of the site sketchy.. I don't quite remember. Anyways, I took a leap of faith. When I first started getting your numerous mails, my initial impression to be honest was "oh crap, I think I signed up for a spam bot." However, after reading the emails did I eventually realize that this was a crazy guy who was very enthusiastic about guitar- which was fantastic because I am a crazy student who is also enthusiastic about guitar but who was a little misguided!

Your emails definitely fill up the inbox, but I was personally alright with it once I understood it was because of your enthusiasm. I suspect the people who listed you as spam havent really had a good look at the content. That compounded with the initial skepticism of signing up to a mailing list that (in my memory) didn't provide much detail as to what I'd be signing up for may be part of your problem.

Anyways, that's my (lengthy) spiel. I love what you are doing for us and good luck!

Interesting email about Dan Denley and his site. I have had dealings with him and one of his affiliates but wont go into that.

I personally dont mind your emails. They are welcome, honest and exactly what I was expecting. Unlike some other sites.

But I do think your email as sent to us today was very unprofessional in its rants and direct attacking of the other sites. If you have a genuine copyright gripe then sue them!

Personally though I found the tone quite a turn off to the rest of your email. I do understand your frustrations though as a software writer my applications regularly get copied and hacked and I dont work any more for a huge company so this affects me financially personally.

In my experience get the men in suits involved get whats owed to you, get them shut down and keep showing a professional face to the customers, offend them and they go away.

Keep up the good work. And remember the forums are filling up with the truth about other rip off sites even though they try to do reviews of their own sites under different names. As the old saying goes, tell a lie and you will always be found out. Never has this been more true than on the internet.

Hi, I agree with your comments and am disgusted that there are people around who are malicious for no cause. I admit I have not really used much of your stuff, not that it isn't good, but, I only subscribed in case there was ever something cropped up I could utilise. Been a semi and pro guitarist for over 50 years and still playing (and learning) I have enjoyed your tips and comments and, will continue to do so if you don't mind having me.

It's too bad that there are people like Denley stealing your stuff and presenting it (very badly indeed) as their own. I hope you get it all sorted out. I'll certainly pass the word along to watch out for that scammer!

I personally do not send anything about guitar lessons to the "spam" file, no matter who their from. I glean as much info from them in order to better understand not only how to play a guitar; but, also the music theory lessons behind the how to play lesson. Granted, I'm probably not as dedicated to playing as much as I should; but, as a Sr Citizen, I find it hard to retain all that I try to learn. Still, I find it interesting, and worthwhile to read all that I recieve; it's too bad your's and others lessons weren't available years ago when my memory retention was 10x better. Keep up the good work; I haven't totally given up yet. Pete

I don't do this often because i have to use a computor in my job as a Project/Construction Manager. I have a limited piano background when i was younger, but have always wanted to play a guitar. I travel alot with my work so i don't get to practice as much as i would like, so i save all your e-mails to my site to go over later. I am 63 and will have more time soon, so keep up the fine job you are doing, I can tell you enjoy what you do, if it wasn't for you, i would not have the information to practice when i do get some time.

Keep the great info coming and keep me on your list. Don't stop recommending worthy websites / products. I followed your advice and purchased Jon Finn's Advanced Modern Rock Guitar Improvisation book set and think it's truly great. I use his "geometric shapes" method to play improvised lead at jam sessions and hardly ever get "lost".
You are providing a fantastic service to all genuine would-be guitarists/musicians and we all need help to improve as nobody ever gets to be a guru who can't improve any more.
Don't let "others" discourage you from what you are doing and I'm sure you wont … just check out the positive feedback you are getting.

being a sailor in the military i end up with allot of extra time on the ship" 8 months at sea". So i bought a guitar. Having no idea how to use it, would require hours of scavenging on the Internet. "keep in mind when your at sea Internet connection can be VERY SLOW sometimes slower than dial-up" When i ran across your sight learn by Email is perfect for my application. Other sights want to send me material via snail mail "hello i am in the middle of the ocean" but they don't seem to understand what that means and still ask me for an address.
I recommend your sight for anyone who serves in the
Armed Forces overseas or afloat.

Now u mail was quite harsh; guess you got quite pissed. I think you only showed those responsible 4 this that they're getting at you. Well my advise is don't let them & don't take it personal coz d path 2 success is full of discouragements; 4 the celebs it's d paparazzi and 4u maybe it's there spammers.
Most of us hav invested wrongly in online tutors so personally i prefer to hav firsthand taste of what a course is b4 paying 4 it. I think if u look in2 this u'll hav more customers.

I just wanted to say that your information is awesome, shame on anyone who tries to take advantage of you being so cool to help others learn something that can bless them in so many ways.

Guitar sounds are like music to your soul, they can lift you up in your weakest sorrows, they can fill you with joy in your happy moments, their is no end to the happiness that music can bring, to teach someone to play is to give them an outlet to handle the world.

Hi, I joined my teenage daughter up on my email as she was interested in the guitar at the time. I was a professional alto sax player before kids and play uke myself and I could see your theory was sound. I stayed on your list when the daughter gave up…and then my adult son and my son-in-law got guitars so I referred them to your website with a recommendation. Please don't be discouraged by the minority of ratbags you described, anyone with an iota of musical knowledge will see through your plaigiarists.

Please keep the e-mails coming. I get to them as soon as I can. I am playing by ear, and I have learned notes. However the chords are quite difficult for me. My fingers are not limber. But I keep trying( smile)
