The Review. . .
The old adage… you get what you pay for… is powerfully represented in this comprehensive and inspiring package.
Many people try to learn guitar on the cheap, and if you are one of those, then this is not for you. There is no quick and easy way to become a rock star in 30 days. You have to master the basics and work from there. You have to do your apprenticeship to become a good tradesman guitar player. The sooner you work on that the faster you'll get there.
But if you are serious about learning guitar and you're willing to put in the time and effort and spend a few bucks for a top quality package, then this is just what you are looking for.

Negatives...
The only thing with this package I found a bit of a pain was all the DVD's and CD's. Swapping them in and out. But if you're organised this won't be a problem.
Positives...
If you can't afford lessons, or don't want a teacher for some reason, then this course is an excellent way to get a top quality guitar eductaion at a very affordable price.
A Guitar teacher will probably charge $30-$50 a week. L&M Guitar works out at about $3.85 a week. (Over 12 months.)
And one of the best things about the course is that you always have the video lesson available 24/7 to check you are doing it correctly. If you went to a teacher you often find you have been practicing something wrong all week until your next visit. Then you have to spend another week fixing it!
So with the DVDs, that means you don't waste time undoing your mistakes and will make faster progress overall!
If you're prepared to put in the time to learn, this course will break you free from struggling with tab and books into guitar playing freedom.
Conclusion...
Most people learning guitar these days try to teach themselves from tab, friends, books and magazines on the cheap. Trouble is they learn bits and pieces of this and that. They never really learn any songs completely from beginning to end. So most end up becoming frustrated and give up after a short time.
There's something called a 'foundation'. To play guitar really well, you need to build a very wide, solid foundation of the basics. This lets you quickly climb to very lofty heights without coming unstuck. Most never understand what that foundation is, or, what the 'basics' really are.
The basics are much, much more than just learning a few chords and a pentatonic scale as most think. The basics is much more than that.
The basics are what top professional musicians practice just about every day... and so should you.
The basics consist of...
- understanding how modern western music actually works
- the (simple) theory behind how it is structured and organized
- ear training right from the start
- major scale construction
- how chords are made from the major scale
- the major scale master pattern
- common chord progressions - this is the crux of it all
- ... and more
These basics are not hard to learn. Don't be scared off by it. It's a lot of fun and very powerful indeed. And once you've got it, then prepare to put your progress on super-steroids! You'll leave everyone else in the dust!
Having played and taught guitar for over 30+ years, all I can say is...
...Learn and Master Guitar is the very best system for understanding and mastering the basics -FAST! It's so well organized and structured you will learn 3, 5, or even 10 times faster than most other programs on offer.
Thing is though, you do have to put in the effort. I recommend at least 30-60 minutes a day six days a week. If you do that with this course, you will be absolutely amazed at your progress after 3 or 4 months. You'll be ready to play in a band if you want.
And after a year to 18 months, you'll be a pretty fine guitar player. And you'll have more new friends than you'll know what to do with.
I'm glad someone has finally put together the most complete DVD guitar training course—for beginner and intermediate players—that I have ever reviewed. And that they have updated the content to provide 10 extra DVDs based on user requests.
"If only this was around when I was learning during the 60's. It would have saved me years of trial and error effort trying to work everything out for myself! It's that good!"
To quote Benjamin Franklin. "If a man empties his purse into his head, no one can take it away from him. An investment of knowledge always pays the best interest."
This course - my friends - is a heck of an investment and money well spent. Empty this information into your mind and you'll never likely go hungry again for a very long time.
