Ok. These pages will be added to as I research what's on offer on the web. It will show learn guitar online sites that offer real value for money.

Learning guitar online is a great way to get up to speed and get to the specifics of learning songs.

I won't put any online guitar lesson programs or links up here that I haven't researched and found to be of real benefit to you.

These are the sites that I recommend. I'm pretty picky.. so it has to be good to get to these pages.

Learn and Master Guitar is my pick. I teach guitar for a living and IMO nothing else even comes close!

Beginner Online Guitar Lessons

Guitar Tips - This site is owned by Chris Elmore from Australia.

Chris says you can learn guitar in 30 days. Trust me, you can't. So this claim is somewhat misleading in my opinion.

However, it's a great site for learning the basics. For getting those fingers working. There's plenty of fun stuff to work with and there's plenty of tracks so you can hear what YOU should sound like too.

It's not expensive and you get a lifetime membership for a very low fee. Go and join up and have some fun.

You can also download the whole site to your own computer. That means you won't have to connect to the internet and type in login information or worry about slow connections.

Guitar Songs

Guitar Songs - This follows on from Guitar Tips. It's for when you can already play the guitar reasonably well. If you can already play a few chords and have got your strumming and picking together reasonably well, then this is a great site.

There are now 50+ songs you can learn with tab, audio and video. Real good selection of songs too. More songs being added all the time.

Lifetime membership again. Very reasonable price. You can download this site too, although it's about 43MB.

Jamorama

Jamorama - July 06 - This site has just been upgraded and includes 3 times the quantity of videos!!

A great site but you have to be methodical to work through it. Just remember, pick one thing and master that before moving on. There's nothing worse than a guitar player that knows little bits of songs but none complete.

Just take your time and never be in a rush.

Intermediate/Advanced Jazz Guitar Lessons

Play What You Hear - Smooth Jazz

Play What You Hear - This is downloadable course by Chris Standring. I personally use this one myself. More along the lines of contemporary or "smooth" jazz.

Not for anyone not prepared to do some serious and consistent practice.

It's a great system and has over 300 rhythm section audio examples and play along files - featuring Peter Erskine, Steve Gadd, and Chris.
